Time trials

About Time trials

Time trials are staggered start races on open roads (in almost all cases) with riders starting at one minute intervals – the winner being the rider with the fastest time. Distances range from 10, 25 and up to 100 miles and even 24 hour events.

Club members regularly compete in Open time trial events on courses around the country, run by Cycling Time Trials, as well as events like the Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono (run on closed road) and events further afield.

The club promotes a CTT Open Time Trial each year on our local course, N1/10.

The club holds its club 10 mile time trial every Wednesday during the summer on a quiet piece of road. Time trial bikes are not necessary and many riders ride on standard road bikes (in some cases with clip on aero bars). All levels of abilities are very welcome and the evening TT has a very inclusive and friendly feel, with riders aged from 12 to 70+. The club time trial is also open to non-members, so if you are considering joining the club please come along and give it a try.
