Chaingang

Club members often take part in chaingang rides during the summer season, typically on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Chaingang rides usually last between one hour and 90 minutes.

The idea of a chaingang is to give riders experience or riding in a group and working together at race pace. The group rides as a single pace line with stronger riders spending more time on the front. The idea is to work together making the group pace as fast as possible and giving everyone a good workout.

With a large enough group a Hare and Hounds format can be used where a slower group starts off first and after a suitable time a faster group starts and attempts to catch the first group.
