Evening TT results

Largest turnout of the season so far with 35 entrants, a lot of fast riders and many setting personal or seasons best in the process. St Ives riders took the top four spots with first place going to Luke Hattersley in 22.08 who also set the fastest time set on the course this year. Second place was Malcolm Smith in 22.53 and third Ken Rolland in 23.31. It was good to see Tony, the club president over from Majorca and riding really well, plus also congratulations to Berenice who recently qualified in her category for the Triathlon World Championships in Chicago. For those who might of missed it there is a great article too in the sports pages of the Hunts Post highlighting the ongoing success of the St Ives CC Go-Riders, some of whom also take part regularly in these events.

Spare a thought for James who’s aim this season is to ride sub 26 mins and missed out by just a single second with 26.00, although he did knock 24 seconds of his PB! Well done to Paul who broke the 25 min barrier and to Clive who broke the 30 min barrier. Kevin C despite improving again this week narrowly missed his seasons target by just 8 seconds but another PB. I’m sure before the end of the year both will comfortably beat their respective targets. Other improvers on the night included fourteen year old Zack by a mighty impressive 3.00 no doubt spurred on by having the three fastest immediately behind him, Ryan improved by 0.45, Chris G (who has just joined St Ives CC) by 0.37 and David by 0.27. Mike rode an impressive seasons best too after first riding a 2 up with daughter Holly as a warm up, and then setting off again to ride for himself. We try to make these friendly events so its good to see those taking part are not just St Ives members. We also had riders from other clubs including Cambridge, Peterborough, NICE TRI (St Neots), two from Greenwheel Cycling, and even one from the Military Police Cycling Club!

Many thanks to the following who assisted on the night to make the event run smoothly and safely:
