St Ives CC summer barbeque

This summer St Ives CC is going to hold a barbeque at the Crown Inn, Broughton on Sunday 12 July following the club run.

The aim is to host an event that is attractive to all club members and their families. With that in mind, in addition to the barbeque (the cost of which will be subsidised by the club), there will be a family ride and a cycle jumble. The Sunday Club Run that week will be planned to finish at Broughton so that riders can meet their families at the barbeque.

The family ride will be aimed at children, accompanied by parents, on the quieter roads around Broughton. The Go-Ride team will provide route cards. Parents can then ride with their families at their own pace and do as many or as few laps as they like before the BBQ starts.

The subsidised price of the barbeque will be £5 per head for members and their families. Food options will include, a sausage or burger in a bun, a marinated chicken kebab and salad and a vegetarian option (if you have any other dietary requirements, please let Chris Lawrence know via the link below). There will also be chocolate brownies and ice cream for dessert. The Crown has a great range of beers, wines and soft drinks to go with the meal. There is also a food and wine fair that weekend with stalls displaying a range of produce and wines to taste and buy.

The Crown Inn is a family run pub with a large garden that is a perfect spot for food and drinks on a summer day. There is plentiful parking at the pub or on the green next to it. http://www.thecrowninnrestaurant.co.uk/

It is important that you let Chris know in advance that you would like to attend the BBQ so that we can give the team at The Crown an accurate indication of numbers. It would also be great to hear from you if you have anything that you would like to sell at the cycle jumble.
