5 members of the St Ives Go Ride team, including 2 sets of siblings, braved the bitter cold to race at Milton country park in Cambridge yesterday. Children from 11 cycling clubs battled it out at round 5 of the Muddy Monsters Cyclo-cross league. The race was hosted by Cambridge Junior Cycling Club. The course was extremely muddy and cold providing a challenging course for all.
The St Ives CC team reigned supreme in the U12 age group with Orla Kenna, age 9, and Ralf Falkner, age 11, winning both the girls and boys categories. Ralph Bicknell, age 7, and Zoe Kenna, age 6, both came 4th in the U8 races. Max Falkner, age 13, came 5th in the U14 boys race.
