Club Time Trial – 13 June

Well done to Adrian Beer who was fastest on the night in 22.12. Adrian’s times are rapidly coming down and he is closing the gap each week to Tim. That time makes him the fifth fastest club member on this course and only 5 seconds off third. Sean Purser set another PB and broke 23 mins for the first time on this course in 22.50. St Neots CC member Pat Ellerbeck was third in 23.28. Holly Hoy was the fastest lady in 27.32, opting for her road bike this week rather than the TT one due to the winds. I will try to compile a list / leader board of club members times, but only know of a few times from previous years. If you have a best that was set before this year on our current course and want to be added, let me know.

Riding their second time trial, both Jacob and Max were significantly faster than their first attempts. Max was fastest junior with an impressive 25.02 and around one and a half minutes faster, and Jacob around three minutes faster. Well done to both Ralf and Louise who were riding their first club TT’s.

On Wednesday 27th June, we shall have a road bike week, and although any bike is permitted, only those on road bikes and without tri bars etc will count. Everyone will have a level playing field in terms of equipment, and hopefully that will encourage some who might feel a bit put off giving it a try. TT bikes are not required, and many riders like Phil ride a standard road bike each week. In fact Phil mentioned recently he used a standard road bike when winning the national 24 hr TT title in 1990!
